Finnish-American Village

Our family is incredibly grateful to the Finnish American Rest Home for the wonderful care given to my father-in-law, Wally, during the final years of his life. He spent time in Assisted Living and Skilled Nursing, with hospital stays in between, and at every stage he was treated with kindness, warmth, and dignity. So many staff members made a difference—Katie, Katja, Crib, Jami, Nina, Cindy, and many others. I truly wish I could list every single person who helped care for him, because there were so many. From the nurses and CNAs to the therapists, doctors, coordinators, dining room staff, housekeeping, and the caregivers who helped with his daily care, everyone went above and beyond to make him comfortable. Most important of all, he was genuinely happy there. He often said, “I’m very happy here.” As a family, that meant everything to us. We never had any issues—only positive experiences. Thank you to everyone who cared for him so compassionately. We will always be thankful.

I AM TAKING THIS OPPORTUNITY TO INFORM YOU ABOUT THE PREMIER ASSISTED LIVING AND NURSING/REHAB FACILITY IN PALM BEACH COUNTY. I AM IN THE HEALTHCARE PROFESSION, AND IN MY PROFESSION, I HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO VISIT PATIENTS IN MANY OF THE FACILITIES IN PALM BEACH COUNTY AND BEYOND. I WOULD BE DERELICT IN MY DUTIES AND PROVIDE A DISSERVICE TO THIS FACILITY AS WELL AS A DISSERVICE TO YOU, THE PUBLIC, BY NOT ENDORSING FINNISH-AMERICAN VILLAGE IN LAKE WORTH. THE STAFF, HEADED BY DIRECTOR OF NURSING CRIB CASTRO, IS BEYOND ATTENTIVE WHILE ALWAYS PROVIDING A SMILE AND CHEERY GOOD MORNING. THE LEVEL OF DIRECT ONE-ON-ONE CARE IS PROFOUND AND RESULTS IN FASTER PATIENT IMPROVEMENT. THE ATMOSPHERE IS VERY “HOMEY-LIKE” WITH DÉCOR UNLIKE THE MORE STERILE ENVIRONMENTS IN OTHER PLACES. IT IS CONDUCIVE TO A MORE RELAXED PATIENT AND LESSENS ANXIETY. LASTLY, THE FOOD IS PREPARED BY THEIR LONG-TIME COOK AND IS ANYTHING BUT INSTITUTIONAL. IT IS DELICIOUS AND HEALTHY. I HAVE BEEN TO THEM ALL!
