Cabot Reserve on the Green

Cabot Reserve has gone through a very positive change in recent years with the involvement of Family Extended Care of Sarasota. My mother spent the last year of her life at Cabot and I was very pleased with her care and the facility. Her situation was difficult with failing health, deafness, and dementia. The staff handled all of that well from Michael Bliss to the administration, nursing, and social directors. I can't thank them enough. Michael was especially helpful during a stressful time of moving and settling my Mom into Cabot.

My Mom is 98 and has been here for going on 9 years, she has a nice private room and bath which is kept clean . They do her laundry which I take home and iron as it pleases Mom .The director and office staff are always responsible and available to me. The activities director is real sweet and tries to get the elders engaged. They have some very kind people working there who pay attention to Mom and help her. They often bring in entertainment . Sometimes there are field trips planned. A few times a local lady brought in her tame Llamas that were wonderful and gentle. Residents loved them. I would give it five stars but for the food , which is mediocre at best. Considering that the residents have not much to look forward to at this stage in life except for meals I wish that they were served a better quality food . Mom is content there. The facility is clean. And she is treated respectfully.

After having a reside here since February this past year through last month, I feel at my need to point out a few things. I had to spend money out of my own pocket to buy supplies for the place namely tablespoons so people can eat their food in the morning also, we're complain about the food and I would order food out almost every night because of food is horrible. They served as gray colored ham on more than one occasion and they serve you oatmeal that's got so much water and it's not even funny. If you like to eat or you want your loved one to gain weight and build their muscles, I suggest to go somewhere else

My Mom moved in a month ago. Everything from touring to moving in to settling in has been super smooth thanks to the wonderful staff! The Team, including Sales, Nursing & Care, Activity Director & Administration, have been so nice and helpful which I'm so grateful for!

While visiting a resident I seen a small handful of employees actually working & do their job while others sit around eating, watching TV & talking on their phones loudly. I seen flying bugs & roaches in the room, mildew stained walls & AC vents, the residents rooms & hallways smell of urine & feces. The care that should be expected is promised but never given.
