Brookdale North Naples

Moving my mom to Naples after the death of my dad was a huge decision. She has MS and she’s wheelchair bound. Because of this, she needs a lot of care. The staff is kind and gentle and responsive. She has found so many peers at Brookdale North to socialize with whether it’s eating together or exercise class or discussing the Bible. She attends bingo and movies regularly and in one year she has built a strong network of friends. Moving her here was the best decision I could have made!

My mom spent the final 15 months of her life at Brookdale in North Naples. There are some very nice, competent and warm staff members. There are also some who are unresponsive and apathetic. But I guess that could be the case anywhere. There did seem to be a high turnover of staff. The chef changed three times in one year and the food and menu in recent months were pretty awful. I heard many complaints from the residents. The atmosphere and grounds are very pleasant, and the interior looks clean on the surface but the carpet and floors throughout the public areas are dirty and stained. Never once in the time my mom lived there were the carpets professionally shampooed. There should be daily vacuuming and floor washing but that was seriously lacking. Just one example was a bottlecap on the carpet remained in the same spot for a week. Not one staff member thought to pick it up and toss it. There were many friendly and warm residents at Brookdale and my mom enjoyed the happy hours (especially when there was music) and she loved bingo. Both activity directors during my mom's tenure were wonderful. My mom also enjoyed her time on the lovely front and back porches. I was disappointed that when my mom passed away the residents were not offered the Brookdale van and driver to take them to the service about a mile away. A few of the residents told me they wanted to attend but they had no transportation. After my mom died, I had questions about emptying her apartment etc., and my phone calls and emails to the director went unanswered. And no words of condolences from her. One final comment, the staff are honest and trustworthy. Never once did anything go missing from my mom’s apartment. Staff administers meds and make the beds and make repairs, do laundry, and nothing was ever touched or missing from my mom’s place.

I have been a performing musician at Brookdale for several months.. During that time, I have had the opportunity to meet the residents and staff. The residents are active, full of life and engaged. The staff are professional, concerned and focused on providing outstanding care. From Holly, the executive director, to AJ the Activities Director, to Joanna who makes sure I get paid, to Lauren and Salina the marketing team, to other people I have not yet gotten to know on a first-name basis, all are first-rate people. I would not hesitate to send a loved one to this assisted living home.

While caring for my husband and my Father, they have been the best staff. They are very attentive, knowledgeable, responsive and professionally personable. They always strive to make the residents happy, especially with the food. They have a lot of special events and meals for families to engage in too.

The team at Brookdale North Naples is genuine and compassionate. Their focus is always their residents and it shows on the residents' smiles and happy faces whenever I visit. Our team at Bayshore have recommended families to them and they are so happy we did. They are an asset to the Naples community!
