West Delray Nursing and Rehabilitation Center

This place has been nothing short of excellent. When my mother had an emergency and left the building unable to speak or even keep her eyes open, the caseworkers and Director of Nursing showed me an incredible amount of compassion, love, and support. Since then, they have continued to provide my mother with exceptional care and have been there for me every step of the way, helping with anything I’ve needed. I’m so grateful to say that my mother is now speaking, interacting, and doing so much better. This facility is truly beautiful compared to the place she was previously at. The kindness, patience, and genuine care the staff have shown her have made such a difference in her recovery—and it has given me so much peace of mind and less to worry about. I cannot thank this facility and its staff enough for everything they have done for my mother and for our family. Their compassion and dedication mean more than words can express.

You always hear about these places but you really don’t know until you live it . My mother has been there for a month at this point and it has had so many challenges it’s hard to put it in words. The call light is a suggestion they come in the room and cancel the call light they do not provide any assistance or they’ll tell you they’ll be right back and an hour or two will go by. The upper management staff is very nice and I feel as if they are trying to do better although they are understaffed they do not have enough people to manage the operation and things get to fall by the wayside. Gary the nurse supervisor seems to wanna do a good job but it’s very challenging sometimes to understand him and things once again just fall by the wayside. There are a few staff members there that want to do a good job especially the nurses but they are not capable of holding up the entire facility by themselves. The CNA’s are overworked and probably underpaid and they get to a point where they just don’t care it seems . They sit at the nursing station talking playing on their phones meanwhile there’s four call lights on the wall blinking going off and nobody goes to see what’s the problem and when they do I have personally witnessed them turn off the call light and press the cancel button in the room and then walk out. keep an eye on the medication’s make sure your loved one is receiving the proper medication and the proper amount at the proper time. The medication windows are very large for example the morning medication’s are anywhere from eight to like 11 o’clock the afternoon medication’s are anywhere from 12 o’clock till about 4 o’clock. Seems like they run out of sheets and pillowcases very often and they make excuses why they can’t change the bed or get you new linens because they don’t have any . Getting a hold of anybody in the event that you need something in a rather emergent timeframe is challenging to say the least. We had to request an after our phone number because of how many different times we tried to reach out and we were unable to get a hold of anybody several phone calls in a row. Joanna is another person that seems to want to do a good job and tries her best but also cannot hold up the entire facility she is very helpful and I feel she is trying to do her best. in a nutshell this place has a lot of challenges like a lot of of them although if you’re in a position where you have to be at a place like this because of Medicare or Medicaid unfortunately you somewhat deal with the conditions but you have to visit often and you’ve also got to be on top of medication‘s and bed sores and things like that or it will get out of control quickly. The amount of money they charge to Medicare and Medicaid monthly is astronomical go ahead and do your research . It’s just sad to be in a position where you can see people who gave to their community for many of years and worked their butt off and unfortunately now they’re old and not able to do as much as they used to and they are kept in these conditions. If you don’t have $7000 a month to pay for a nice nursing place or rehabilitation facility this is where you end up
