The staff is very attentive to the recovery and condition of each individual needs. The staff respects resident privacy and life choices., example sexual orientation. The administrator cares about the residents welfare and happiness greatly. the rooms are clean but need some minor repairs such as the window blinds.
This facility is undergoing many changes. For those who don’t know the new Executive Director, stop & meet her, the door is always open!!! There’s an entire new leadership team. The Director of Nursing is amazing & is working hard to get the nursing department on track. The new Social Worker Margaret is a Godsend & Myrtle the activity director is second to none. Your loved one will never be bored…I have a family member here & I can tell you the improvement has been great the past 3 months. Even the food has gotten so much better. This facility is undergoing many changes. For those who don’t know the new Executive Director, stop & meet her, the door is always open!!! There’s an entire new leadership team. The Director of Nursing is amazing & is working hard to get the nursing department on track. The new Social Worker Margaret is a Godsend & Myrtle the activity director is second to none. Your loved one will never be bored…I have a family member here & I can tell you the improvement has been great the past 3 months. Even the food has gotten so much better. It takes a village to make a nursing home a home for our families and that’s what these ladies are doing!! We now have a monthly family night. Thanks to everyone at UH for their hard work.
The site administrator,Tammy, Does not return phone calls. She allows stopping of physical therapy. Without notifying P.O.A. Family member. Does not respond to inquiries to why. When asked questions if you can catch her before she ducks you she gets offended rather than answering. When asking if you can talk to her she is in meeting but will talk to directly following and after waiting for hours, she has either gone to lunch or left for the day. Patients are frequently shuffled from room to room without notification or explanation. Imagine being checked out for lunch, and not knowing where…

If you looking for somewhere to dump and forget a family member, you are in luck at least until the bill comes.

i was there 2 weeks, fell twice the first day. the staff talked bad about the pateintsand their job. it was during covid and none of the staff wore masksbut made my wife and daughter wear ppe outfits to see me
If you value your loved one, DO NOT take them here. The care is questionable, the food is below standard, and they gave him Prednisone for 2 months. You never keep a patient on that for that long. He only saw a doctor when he first got there. One day my fiancé was given half of a piece of sausage 2 1/2” long and a piece of white bread. I’m telling you, it’s a nightmare.
I went to check out the facility for a family member and was immediately disappointed. The staff was rude and unhelpful. The facility was dirty and the rooms were cramped. The staff was just hanging out in the hallway ignoring the patients. I saw no interaction between them. I asked where to find a office and was just told "It's in the front of the building" then she went back to chatting with the other nurses. Please do not let your family near the place....needs to be investigated badly
My mother was at University Hills Health and Rehabilitation for a couple of days and they didn't do too good. The admin and some of the staff were nice, but they weren't really looking out for her. They were understaffed, and the food was terrible. They did a lot of activities every day, which seemed pretty good. The place was so big, which I didn't care for, but they had a nice inside courtyard, and the rooms were pretty okay.
My brother in-law placed my father-in-law in University Hills. The first couple of weeks, when he was in a private room, he got excellent care. Now, he's in a semi-private room. He basically lays in the bed, and he needs to be fed. The room was old, but it was clean. I think the menu was fine, but his food is chopped and he feels like he gets the same thing all the time. The staff has been very nice, and they seem to have plenty of staff. They have an outside area. They offer to take him outside all the time, but he won't go.
