About this community

The Lombardo Home in Bradenton, Florida, is described in listings as an assisted living community; one also classifies it as a board-and-care home. Its reported licensed capacity is eight residents, and listings show Florida license number 11148. Care descriptions include 24-hour supervision and help with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, transfers and medication management. They also note coordination with healthcare providers, outlining both personal assistance and care coordination.

Listings include non-ambulatory care and wheelchair accessibility, and identify English as a language spoken by caregivers. These details may be relevant to residents who need mobility support or help with everyday tasks. The descriptions do not specify the level of assistance available to each resident, so the listed services do not indicate what an individual’s care plan would include.

A shared living room is identified as an indoor common space, and an outdoor patio is also mentioned. The sources do not describe how emergency calls are handled.

Scheduled daily activities and community-sponsored events are listed, including movie nights. One description also names arts and crafts, music sessions, gentle exercise and holiday celebrations. Walking paths and a garden appear on the amenities list. Together with the shared living room and patio, these features offer several listed settings for recreation, socializing or outdoor time. The available descriptions do not specify how often each activity takes place.

Local destinations named in the listings include West Coast Pediatrics and Manatee Gynecology, along with Winn-Dixie, Walgreens and CVS Pharmacy. Starbucks, Shake Pit and Bradenton Riverwalk are also identified as places of interest in the area. They're attended to every day, and they're given activities. The place is open enough for them to watch their patients, but private enough for them to have their own space. What struck me was the level of attention that they give to their patients. I saw the main entrance living area and a couple of bedrooms; they were a reasonable size. They do some very low-impact sitting exercises, they would attend to whatever the patients like to do, like crossword and jigsaw puzzles, TV, and games. I would call them very basic activities, but a lot of times, their staff is doing it with them or helping them navigate through the process, so they're not sitting around staring into space all day.

My mother is in The Lombardo Home, which is a small home with just six residents. It's wonderful. She has her own private room. It's a large room and she has her own things there. Even the double rooms are nice and large. She can have her own teacups, the food she likes, and all that. They provide wonderful care, and she's very happy there. They have people come in with music, animals, and so on. They have physical therapists, she eats her meals at the table with other people, and that's really nice. The house is all decorated like back in the '40s, so the elderly residents there feel right…

They have a small back room where they play Bingo and all that.
