Regents Park Health Care Center

My daughter has been a temporary resident of Regents twice, and we have had a very good experience each time. Sometimes I can't rely on my personal caregivers when it comes to me having to travel so we have had to rely on them for overnight respite. My hat goes off to Margie, Mary and all of the workers at Regents that helped make my daughters stay a positive one.

This place has been a light in the darkness for my family. After years of struggling against unsafe discharges and frequent readmissions, countless complications trying to find solutions and very little assistance, we found Regent Park. My mother has struggled and for years I've tried to help her. We've been to some dumps. Regents Park has been the only facility we've been to where the residents genuinely seem happy and cared for. Their dignity is protected. They are treated with respect, they are given agency and independence to the extent that is safe. They came highly recommended to me by a neighbor that is a case worker at another hospital. I was struggling with the one we were at and she recommended I reach out to Regents because their admissions team is so helpful, and it's a clean and safe home for my mother while she needs care. Admissions was super proactive, very reassuring and the most helpful of any I've encountered. They took the time to chat with me while I was still begging the hospital not to try to send my mother home to get hurt again. She was ready and waiting for their call, she kept me updated every step of the way. Madeline and Margie in this department have been super helpful. Frankie manages the office and has been so kind, and helpful. She's offered to assist with the DCF requirements for all the paperwork navigation for Medicaid, and heard my concerns clearly and aided in seeing me through them. In my experience, there are never enough nurses on the weekend and evenings no matter where you go, but this place has hand down managed this smoother than any other rehab or hospital we've seen so far. It's always good to stay involved as family, but I can honestly say when I've called whether it's middle of the night, weekend or daytime, if I have a question there is a nurse that will get me an answer. If I worry that my mother needs reassurances, or attention to a concern, they will go check on her for me without issue. They have helped me to help my mother in ways a lot of other places had ignored and I'm so grateful to them for that. They really care about her, and they are friendly with us when we come in. If you have a vaccinated and well behaved dog, provide your vaccination records and bring them (ON LEASH). The residents and staff love a visitor and it's so good for the residents to get that little excitement too. The therapy teams are incredible. They PT and OT rooms are not just therapeutic but they are social hubs. They are always active and engaged and having a good time in there. Derek in Speech therapy is an absolute darling and quite frankly I wouldn't be surprised to see him running his own practice one day. The activities director is a real shining star here too. Their team hosts daily bingo, themed events, social activities indoors and outdoors. They truly treat the residents with the care and kindness they deserve and work very hard to be super inclusive for those that need more help. They are always innovating new ideas and are truly brilliant in the way they keep the wheel moving at all times. Over the last 10 years I've been in countless hospitals and health care centers for my family. Being a caregiver, or a concerned loved one is a cortisol spike that can be difficult to manage and often feels impossible. At regents, you'll walk in to Ricardo or one of the other lovely office team members greeting you, offering assistance and ideas and really just checking in on a human level. You'll walk through the halls of smiling residents eager to get to their next game or dance party. You'll find rooms well kept, multiple activity rooms, and well manicured landscape with plantlife that will make any gardeners heart happy, and Westchester right next door for easier transition for those who are concerned they may need it and not want to move from facility to facility. I haven't slept this well in years, but knowing my mom is safe and at the end of the day will always have the care she needs, and some agency over that has helped get a sense of relief from constant concern.

Mom in for a 5 day respite.during her stay she fell from the bed,came home with a bed sore,not clean,without her blanket and without her original wheelchair.during weekend short staffed with night nurses only 2 to her area and worked 16hr shift.after 8hrs I question the quality of care.That was 5day respite for my loved one.Judge for yourself if Regency is the right fit for your loved one.

Attentive nursing staff and excellent therapy team helped my mother recover from a serious fall. A heart-felt thanks to everyone at the center for helping her get back on her feet.

My mother was in Regent and what a wonderful place! They know every person by name. Everyone there was caring and kind. Their PT and OT departments are phenomenal!! She loved those people and I believe they truly cared about each person because I witnessed it. I was there every day to see my mom. They have activities and movies and parties for many occasions. Those parties thrilled every person. I can’t say enough kind things to do them justice. If you need to pick a place who devotes their true selves to help people, I highly recommend Regent!
