would not recommend this facility based on my family's experience. My mother has dementia and requires close supervision and compassionate care. Unfortunately, I witnessed a lack of supervision, understaffing, and staff who often appeared unconcerned about the residents' well-being. One experience that was especially upsetting was walking into my mother's room and finding her sitting alone in her wheelchair while her meal had been left off to the side, completely out of her reach. No one was assisting or monitoring her to ensure she was able to eat. As someone with dementia, she depends on the staff for proper care and attention, and seeing her left unattended in that condition was heartbreaking. Families trust nursing facilities to provide safe, attentive, and compassionate care for their loved ones. In my experience, this facility fell short of those expectations. I sincerely hope management addresses the issues of understaffing, supervision, and the quality of care provided to residents so that no other family has to experience what ours did.

The people here are "polite" or at least they act like it, and I will acknowledge that first. But politeness does not make up for serious communication failures & just lack of care and at this point I am beyond frustrated and deeply uneasy about my mother being here. My 67-year-old mother was sent here after a hospital stay for severe weakness because she needed therapy to regain strength and go home. Before this incident, she was fully independent, handled all of her own daily tasks, and has NEVER had any problems with doing things on her own and being her own person all that to say she's not someone that bothers anyone and the only time she'll ever ask for help is if she really can't do something on her own. Before she was admitted, I clearly told staff that my mother does not speak English and primarily speaks Creole. I was reassured multiple times that many staff members speak Creole and that communication would not be an issue. That has not been our experience at all. In just ONE WEEK, I have already had to call this facility multiple times because of concerning situations: • One night, while I was on the phone with my mother, I heard her repeatedly call for a nurse just to ask a simple question what medication she had been given. She was dismissed over and over. When I called the nurses’ station to explain that she was only trying to understand what medication she received, I was told by the specific nurse that she had that night that she didn’t know that my mother didn’t speak English even though this was clearly communicated before admission. It felt more like she was being a bother rather than being heard and being treated as if she doesn't know what she is talking about!! (I'm aware that a lot of patients there have memory issues or dementia or something of the sort but THAT IS NOT HER CASE) • On another occasion, my mother told me they were about to give her blood pressure medication before even checking her blood pressure. She refused it herself, but what if she hadn’t spoken up? She has a long history of both high and low blood pressure which is hard to manage and giving medication without checking first could have been dangerous. & she's also been dealing with that long enough to know when she should and should not take the medication but if feels more like you're supposed to do as they say and never question or say anything here! • When I called to clarify her medical history, I was told that my mother “has a little bit of dementia.” This was shocking and completely unacceptable. My mother has NEVER been diagnosed with dementia. She's seen neurologists and has never had memory issues. I'm 25 and her memory is just as sharp as mine. It feels like patients are being treated all the same instead of being treated as individuals. At this point, the biggest issue is the constant miscommunication and the feeling that individual patient needs are not being taken seriously. This environment feels more stressful than reassuring, and instead of feeling confident that my mother is being taken good care of, I feel like I have to constantly monitor and advocate just to make sure basic things are done correctly. There is much more that could be said, but the bottom line is this: "portraying" kindness alone is not enough. Clear communication, attention to patient needs, and safety should be the standard not something families have to constantly remind them of. My hope in writing this review is not to criticize, but to highlight serious communication and safety concerns that need improvement that I truly hope gets addressed! This whole situation just saddens me because what about the people that don't have family members to speak up for them and the ones that can't really speak up for themselves! How are they getting treated!! Everyone deserves to be treated with fairness and with a good level of care no matter what and not like they're just another box that needs to be checked off of a list for meds/food/ pt etc.... it's just super sad and truly makes my heart ache. Praying for the patients there!
