Ask about this communityNorth Port Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is in North Port, Florida, and provides post-acute rehabilitation and long-term care. One facility profile reports 120 certified beds and participation in both Medicare and Medicaid. Another profile places the center in Sarasota County. Its care description says skilled nursing and rehabilitation are tailored to individual needs. The listed services span short-term rehabilitation and continuing nursing care, along with therapies and other supports. The profile therefore describes a center with both recovery-focused services and longer-term care, rather than a single type of stay.
Post-acute services include wound care and post-surgical care, as well as pain management. Short-term rehabilitation is also listed, placing recovery services among the center’s core offerings. The center reports that nursing care is available around the clock. These services are presented as part of a skilled nursing setting; the profile does not specify a standard length of stay or describe particular recovery schedules.
Physical, occupational and speech therapy are available. The center also lists cognitive and adaptive therapy, broadening the range of therapy services named in its program. The descriptions identify these disciplines but do not detail individual treatment plans, session frequency or particular therapy goals. Families comparing options can note the range of therapy types without assuming that each is appropriate for every person or stay.
For people needing ongoing support, the center lists long-term care and 24-hour nursing care. Additional services include respite care, palliative care and social services. Therapeutic recreation is also included in the service list, connecting care offerings with recreational programming. A facility profile identifies the center as a skilled nursing facility, not part of a hospital or continuing care retirement community, and lists resident and family councils. These are distinct listed services; the source does not describe eligibility, scheduling or how each service is arranged for an individual resident.
Living arrangements include private and semi-private rooms. The center’s website describes its surroundings as home-inspired, with a modern feel. Listed room and facility amenities are cable television, telephone and internet access, giving residents options for entertainment and communication in their rooms. The center also describes its dining as restaurant-style. These details outline the available room types and common amenities, though the profile does not specify room dimensions, furnishings, meal menus or how residents select a room.
Social activities and recreational programs are listed as part of daily life, and a facility profile also mentions activities and outings. Transportation is available for medical appointments, a practical service for residents who need to travel for care. Together, these details describe some of the center’s nonclinical supports: opportunities for recreation and social engagement, dining, communication access and appointment transportation. The available information does not provide an activities calendar or transportation schedule.

My father, Chris Newcomer, left a review here two months ago stating he was “thankful that I have not had an emergency yet.” Well, let me tell you, the emergency DID happen—and this facility literally could have cost my dad his life. On June 14, 2026, he started telling the nurse something was wrong. He is diabetic and could feel that his blood sugar was dropping dangerously low. She repeatedly ignored his complaints and did absolutely nothing. When he literally begged her to call 911, she REFUSED, claiming she had to get a doctor's order first! By the time 911 was finally called at 1:30 AM,…

By the time 911 was finally called at 1:30 AM, he was rushed to the ER with blood sugar levels in the 30s. Unfortunately, he has been in and out of the hospital ever since. The hospital is now trying to discharge him to a rehab facility again, but it is safe to say he is absolutely NOT going back to North Port Rehab! They proved they cannot be trusted when a life is on the line.
I went to visit one of my dear friends at North Port Rehabilitation. When I got there she said she had to poop, we rang the buzzer and no one came. I even asked one of the attendants if she could get my friend some one to help her because she had to poop. The woman said “sorry I don’t work over here. “. “I said, well couldn’t you just ask someone that dfoes work here to get her something to go poop ?” No one came, I left , came back and her daughter was with her now. Don’t know if an attendant helped her poop or her daughter did. You people that own this place need to hire more help to attend…

My brother got transferred here today after open heart surgery. I’ve been calling this facility since 5pm requesting I speak to the nurse in charge of my brother. Tried several times now and it’s now 8:10pm. All six phone calls I was on hold ten minutes or longer yet No one picked up. Called back again and was hung up on. We’ve also left nurses station a voicemail at 6pm. No return call and we can not get through to any nurse to check up on my very sick brother recovering from open heart surgery. Tried again. Put on hold for several minutes. No one picks up phone since 5pm. I’m worried about my brother and wanted to see how he is doing, to no avail.
I’ve had many many positive experiences, especially with nursing care… administration and PT.. I have brought several concerns to all the above departments and they listened to my concerns and quickly responded or modified what I was concerned about. I brought several concerns to administration and every concern was addressed immediately and with great care and concern.. I would highly recommend this facility based on the administration!!!
We had a lovely visit. The patient's room smelled pleasant. There was plenty of seating. The staff was friendly. Thank you
This facility has strong leadership. The energy and spirit of their staff felt as you walk the halls is amazing. I was greeted by each and every team member with a smile and offer to help. Thank you for your commitment to customer service and lasting impressions.
Visited my friend this morning and the atmosphere was very conducive to rest and recovery..
