Memory Lane Cottage

My family member has been at the facility since they opened. I’ve seen my share of staff. At one point it was a revolving door. I couldn’t keep up with new faces. For the last year and a half, the staff has been pretty stable..thanks to [name removed](DON). She’s been a true blessing to the community, residents and staff. Thanks yo her, my mind was at ease. She’s a wonderful Nurse and did a wonderful job turning that place around. Unfortunately she was let go abruptly!! I heard from staff that she was let go abruptly due to her position being phased out. I’ve also heard from that staff since she refused to take on the administrator role in last year, they decided to combine both jobs and boot her out. Let me tell you what a mistake that was!! [name removed] cared about my family member as well as the other remand staff. Since she’s been gone, the place has fallen completely apart. What was once a 5 star facility is now 0 on a good day. Looking else where..

My family and I are new to the whole assisted living thing. Up until recently I never thought my husband and I would be where we are in life. I was very hesitant about placing my husband in a memory care unit until I toured Memory Lane Cottage at Oviedo. Don’t get me wrong we toured another place however we decided to go with Memory Lane for a few different reasons. The building is very clean. The residents looked well kept. The atmosphere in general was very welcoming. The staff welcomed us during the tour and I was able to ask the DON, [name removed]a lot of clinical questions with ease. [name removed]is very pleasant and her presence is warming. She’s the reason my daughter and I felt very comfortable in our choice. She is a doll!! Staff [name removed] And [name removed] are amazing. They took the time out to speak with my directly about what my husband likes/dislikes. What time he goes to bed. What is his favorite thing to do….etc. If you are looking to place your family in a memory care unit..please go tour.

If you are looking for a loving and caring environment for your loved one…then look no further. Believe me when I tell you this is the only place where I see staff hugging residents and providing lots of reassurance!! Residents are happy and smiling. Director of Nursing [name removed] is doing an amazing job at the facility. She provided consistent support for her staff and residents. She always makes her self available no matter the time of day. [name removed] is always thinking outside of the box and I can appreciate that very much. Her ways of thinking is exactly what EVERY memory care facility needs. Wish she can clone herself and spread her knowledge, charisma, strength and love to everyone. We are very thankful Katrina is there leading the team of care aides and med techs. I wish I could give a million stars!!!
