My mother moved in Highpoint August 22, and moved out 7 months later. They start out very nice and helpful, but start trying to use the amenities that are offered during the interview process and trouble begins. The pool lift chair worked 3 whole days the entire time she was there. I had told them I wanted to use it to help mom get back walking. It took 3 months to get it repaired and it only worked for 3 days. I saw mom on floor thru the camera I have in her room. I called front desk to ask for someone to go help her. I then drove there to find my 95 year old mother still on the floor, arm…

My mother moved in Highpoint August 22, and moved out 7 months later. They start out very nice and helpful, but start trying to use the amenities that are offered during the interview process and trouble begins. The pool lift chair worked 3 whole days the entire time she was there. I had told them I wanted to use it to help mom get back walking. It took 3 months to get it repaired and it only worked for 3 days. I saw mom on floor thru the camera I have in her room. I called front desk to ask for someone to go help her. I then drove there to find my 95 year old mother still on the floor, arm bleeding, face up against furniture, legs twisted under her and the aid that the residents nicknamed sgt (Margareta) standing there looking at her while talking on the phone. The aid argued with me as I picked mom up .This person should not be in this business. Highpoint continued to allow this person to mishandle my mother. She is rough and abrupt with no concern for the very old residents and they complain about her frequently! When trying to get answers the office personal ignored my emails until I asked about notice needed to vacate. I received that answer in minutes. I had to send the notice several times as they said they didn't receive it. Then they got very nasty to deal with. They refused to fill out insurance information that they had been doing monthly until notice given. They added charges for meal delivery that was not ordered, they charged for extra days after moving out. I did finally get some of the wrongful charges refunded. The daytime aids are wonderful as is the cafeteria workers but the night crew told mom they couldn't be bothered to help her with going to bathroom in middle of the night. We pay about $6k a month and about $1000 is for that level of care. She only got good care from daytime staff. We bought mom a scooter, the aids took the key from her room the 1st day without telling her. Very unprofessional. I wouldn't recommend this facility to anyone that cares about the person you are placing in a facility.
Highpoint at Cape Coral is truly a special place. The residents are wonderful, the staff is amazing, and there is such a warm and welcoming atmosphere throughout the community. You can feel that people genuinely care, and it makes a big difference. The team goes above and beyond to create a positive experience, and the sense of community is something that really stands out. It is a place filled with kindness, connection, and great energy.

DO NOT GO HERE! The food is terrible, especially the stuffed cabbage… there was a dead moth hiding inside the uncooked, stale ground beef… (Pretty sure that’s a health violation…) Don’t get me started on the servers. Danica is the absolute WORST. She’s rude, condescending, and unprofessional. I see her constantly flirting with other coworkers instead of serving me and my mates. When she speaks to me, she gives me unnecessary attitude, rolls her eyes, and is too loud. She is unladylike, and treats everyone around her with disrespect. FIX THIS OR GET SUED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
They've taken great care of my Dad with advanced dementia.
I made the decision to move here due to the availability of transitional living under the same roof, considering the decline in health of my husband. This was the best move I've ever made. The entire staff is friendly, compationate, and extremely helpful and a joy to have around daily. They provide activities, entertainment, outings, and always looking for ideas, suggestions, and interaction of the residents. Its easy and fun to get involved and participate in the many activities that interest you. I can never stress enough that this has been the best move I've ever made and can see being here for the remainder of my life.
