If you’re looking for a place to live as you age, Freedom Village of Bradenton is the best. After my husband passed, I thought for sure I could live alone independently and I could for a long time, but then I started to fall at home and had health problems and knew on the last fall that I needed to find a place that would take care of me if I fell again got really injured. After visiting several places, my mind settled on FVB. I watched how residents treated one another, then I watched how staff treated one another, then how both populations interacted and treated one another. It was like one and the same. And my heart immediately opened up to wanting to be part of that community. The dining is the best! Compares easily with any 4 star restaurant. Supportive staff who are friendly and energetic trying to fill all of your needs. Rules are in place as guidelines - especially if you don't have common sense. Come and see for yourself how you might be treated and how you might be appreciated and how you can appreciate others as you age in place.
My Husband and I moved into Freedom Village about 3 months ago with our dog/baby, all three of us LOVE it! You could not ask for a more Wonderful place to live in retirement, The Dining is First class , food is incredible and Menu offers a wide selection of entrees. Have not had anything but incredible experiences and LOVE being here. Everyone is very friendly and the staff here could not be more helpful, caring and efficient. COME AND VISIT AND SEE FOR YOURSELF!

I moved to Freedom Village in December 2023. Prior to moving to Freedom Village, I prepared a checklist of what I would look for in a Senior Living Community. After meeting with the marketing staff and having the opportunity to spend a couple nights and view firsthand the activities and enjoy the excellent meals it became obvious this was going to be my future home. I found the residents to be genuinely happy, friendly, and socially engaging. One thing that was particularly impressive was the respect and helpfulness of the staff and this included not only senior staff but the young people who provide service in the dining rooms. I also want to speak highly about Freedom Village Management. I have found them to listen to residents’ concerns and needs and responsive in addressing concerns. During the recent Hurricanes Management was visible, residents were kept safe, and those with special needs were accommodated. If you’re looking for a future home, I highly recommend that you consider visiting and partaking of the many amenities, meeting some of the residents, enjoying the dining, and participate in one of the activities available at Freedom Village. After 2 ½ years of being here, I can truly say I’m very happy with my decision to move to Freedom Village. To paraphrase a statement that Lee Iacocca, previous President and CEO of Chrysler Corporation once said, “if you can find a better” Senior Living Community (than Freedom Village), move into it. Have lived here 4 1/2 years. Nice place, having been upgraded with a new bistro complex in addition to the existing kitchens for the two areas for independent living and one for the rehab/skilled nursing areas. Many activities including transport to outings such as shopping and theaters. Blake hospital is across the street. The only real downside is that the food has too much salt already cooked into it. There is a large selection of entrees although some ladies who have cooked for 50 years find that not all entrees have been cooked their way, but they like that someone else is doing the meal planning and cooking.
We moved to Independant Living in Freedom Village 4 years ago from a home in Tellico Village, TN. I was 83 and my wife was 78. It has been a wonderful experience. The Residents enjoy a "family culture not necessarily found at similar CCRCs. The management, activities, and facilities are all very satisfactory. We have been very active, including committee work in the Health Center which houses Assisted Living, Memory Care and Skilled Nursing.
My husband and I have lived in Freedom Village of Bradenton's Independent living for almost 10 years. We've been through hurricanes, renovations, and COVID during those years and we know we are in capable hands. Everything FV does is first rate, making sure the residents and staff are safe, happy, and well taken care of. Lots of activities are offered to entertain us and keep us fit, including exercise classes, movies, weekly entertainment, and trips. And we have choices for dining: 2 dining rooms (soon to be 3), a Bistro, and take out. And the food is good! But best of all are the people! Residents and staff are friendly and helpful, knowing we are all in this together. This is definitely a 5 star community.
My wife passed away in Amarillo, Texas, where we had lived for nearly 50 years, near the end of May 2025. The only other family I had was my daughter in Sarasota, so it was only natural that I should move here to Bradenton, Florida. My daughter sent me brochures from three retirement communities. When I compared freedom village to the other two, there was no question about where I should settle. I moved in here, July 1 of 2025 and was amazed at how friendly everybody was. Not just staff, who you would expect to be friendly, but other Residents. As well. I felt welcomed. I felt warmth. I felt friendship and I felt like I belonged from the moment I got here. I have a very nice one bedroom apartment with a kitchenette and Launderette and I really don’t need any more than that. There are three on property restaurants that I can choose to eat at and often eat with friends. The food is very good and very, very inexpensive. We have an activities Director, Sue Lofthouse, who does an absolutely Yeoman’s job, providing us with places to go, things to do, and these folks even provide us transportation to almost all of them. They even have an occasional happy hour at no cost. They’re really is no reason to just sit around and do nothing unless that’s what you want to do. We are free to come and go as we please. There is excellent security and housekeeping and maintenance available at no additional cost, anytime you need it. Bradenton is about midway between Tampa Bay and Sarasota, on the Suncoast of Florida. There is an absolute plethora of great restaurants, fine medical facilities, and plenty of on and off property entertain entertainment as well. I have said many times that I really feel like I’ve landed on my feet when I came here after the death of my wife and have no doubt that this was the right thing to do and the right place to do it I really do highly recommend this continuous care retirement community. I need to have no fear whatsoever of what will become of me as I grow older because these folks will see that I am properly cared for. I couldn’t be happier if I were twins!
My husband and I have lived at Freedom Village for 5 years this summer. We have a beautiful 3-bedroom apartment. It has met our needs for now and whatever might occur down the road. There are many activities to choose from and a host of wonderful people.
