Freedom Pointe at the Villages Rehabilitation

My mother fell and dislocated her shoulder. The hospital sent her to freedom pointe rehab and the doctor's refused to give her the pain meds prescribed for her. She was suffering very badly. I had to get her transferred to Pam's rehab in Tavares due to the doctor's and the staff. I really thank the social worker for getting my mother transferred ASAP. My mother got to Pam's rehab in Tavares and she immediately got her pain meds. Freedom pointe rehab is inhumane to seniors that are in severe pain. I wouldn't put a rat in there for care. This place is horrible. I'm already speaking to a attorney about freedom pointe rehab. A case is being started. SMH 🤦🤦🤦🤦🤦

I have watched the team at Freedom Pointe Rehab & Healthcare Center take my father from not wanting to get out of bed (after surgery to repair a broken femur) to actively looking forward to his therapy sessions. The administrative team could not have been more pleasant and efficient in getting him in. The paperwork was minimal, simplified, understandable. They are warm, caring people. They make it easy for family members in every way needed. The nursing team- absolutely delightful. All of them provided care for my father like he was their father. They are intelligent, responsive, compassionate, and patient. Meal service team has gone out of their way to accommodate my father‘s dietary needs and restrictions. Suggestions were made that we hadn’t even considered. Menu choices were always plentiful and consumed! Housekeeping staff nothing but sunshine. Any time clean linens, gowns, etc. were needed, they were quickly supplied. Activities coordinators always enthusiastic and encouraging. Physical therapy and occupational therapy five-star all the way. They found ways to motivate, encourage, and improve confidence and do what is necessary to accomplish what is needed to make their patients better. These weren’t simple flowchart therapy sessions. They were specifically geared to strengthen weaknesses and focus on getting done what was necessary to get him out. They provide individual sessions and group sessions that were also great social interactions for all. Goals and objectives were explained so that there was a carrot to grab to find his way home. If and when my time comes to need a rehabilitation center, this is the place I would choose. If you want a place that will care for a family member like the patient is their own, with top notch staff focused on doing what they need to make each patient better, this is your place. I give Freedom Pointe Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center six stars out of five!

A family member went to rehab there for 3 months. When it came time for her to be discharged home at the end of her 100 days, there was NO communication with her son, who lives out of the area but had been part of some care plan meetings, even though the family member’s husband has possible cognitive issues. As a healthcare worker, I am VERY unimpressed with the coordination of care.

This experience help me get back where I belonged. Lots of excellent people come together every day here to make people's dreams a reality. Helping us to get our Freedom back. ....that is the point. FREEDOM Pointe. Thanks for your care. Diane Dresback.

They work wonders. I couldn't walk when I came in, now on leaving I am walking out. With my walker but still walking. Thank you for given back my freedom & that's the point.
