Great place for our parents. Staff is wonderful and caring. Lots of fun things to do. Everyday has something to do for everyone

I love Arya. The staff is super friendly and professional. They care deeply for the residents as well as their families. The dining is delicious. Everything is fresh and prepared according to the diner's dietary needs. There are always activities of some sort going on. Whether it's Bingo, Pokeno, luncheons off campus, dance lessons, happy hour with karaoke, arts and crafts or balloon volleyball, there is never a reason to be bored. The residents are all lovely and welcoming. They view each other as extended family. This place has such a warm feeling. If you are looking for the perfect living community for yourself, a loved one or a friend, look no further than Arya. You will not be disappointed.

Heather, l feel for you. My husband was kicked out just after the original nurse left with new management. They told me his level of care was more than what they could do. But his level was exactly the same as when he was admitted only 2 months before. Although some of them are very helpful, some technicians were just sitting on the chair looking at their phone. If you ask for help, they always told me, oh we are not allowed to handle him one person, but other is busy. Will be there when she comes back. And 15 min. later neither of them are found. So, 30 min. later, I needed to take care of him myself. That was almost all of the time. At breakfast, they took everyone out for breakfast, and made him wait until past 9am to get him up and feed him. Everyone was already done eating, and instead of getting him up, they started other's medication! I have too many things to say about this horrible place... At the end, even though they kicked him out, they kept community fee, and didn't even help with the new facility to move. When the nurse came to evaluate him, the director didn't attend her, although I already alerted him, nor alerted staff to attend and help the nurse. All what they did was to tell the nurse how inappropriate he is to go to another memory care. He should go to the snf! Of course, they declined to receive him. Even with some good staff who works there, I don't think it's worth. If your loved one needs help, then better stay away. The beautiful look is not what you should care. How they care residents is more important.

Dear Volusia County Families, Be aware of this facility! We brought my grandmother here after a tragic passing of her husband and loss of her home to be cared for in their memory care unit because she has late stage dementia. At our very SHORT time there (because they didn’t even give her a month to adjust) we witnessed a lot of poor care not only in regards to my grandmother but other residents that reside there. They left my grandmother constantly alone KNOWING she needed help with tasks like getting dressed and the bathroom. We found her wandering the halls at time not dressed completely exposed trying to find a bathroom, with no staff around to do so, so support from another residents family member helped her find a bathroom. On other occasions when we visited she was left with no toilet paper in her bathroom which we the family provided , they just could refill it which was a simple daily task that should’ve been done. We also witnessed other residents not being helped with their meal, sitting for over thirty minutes as their food got cold because they weren’t even given a spoon. These are just some of the smaller things that happened and that we witnessed. When reaching out for options of care and further help, we as a family felt dismissed by multiple members of the staff. They made it very clear WEEKS before asking us to find a new facility for her that they no longer wanted her there and that showed through staff responses and care not only to my grandmother the resident but to a whole family during a time of grief. Memory care facilities are expected to provide compassionate, attentive, and professional care to individuals who cannot advocate for themselves. Sadly, that standard was not met in my grandmother’s case. No family should have to worry whether their loved one is being properly cared for in a place that is meant to provide protection and support. If your family members reside here I’d take a deep dive weekly in the care that’s being received, I would hate for this to be an experience for someone else’s loved ones. For the staff at Arya, I hope you learn to be honest and true when it comes to your care and communications. I also hope you give your caretaker Ally a raise because by far she is the only one who meets memory care standards. She has compassion and cares about the work she does truly from the heart. I hope you take this complaint seriously and use it as a reflection for future cases that may be similar, because your dropped the ball hard.
